Good Morning Northeast Academy Family and Friends,
It is July 2, 2015 and it is hard to believe how fast the summer is going. It want be long and we will be back in school with all the hustle and bustle of daily routines. I want to encourage everyone to enjoy their summer and to continue to make family memories that will last a lifetime. As we approach Saturday and the 4th of July I want to remind everyone to take advantage of all the celebrations of our independence day observances but also want to caution everyone to be safe. There will be a lot of people on the lakes and driving about  and some of them will be under the influence so please be safe and drive and boat defensively; alcohol, drugs and intoxicants do not mix with driving, boating or fireworks so please be aware , stay safe and have fun. Would also like to encourage you to remember what we are celebrating and what it cost for us to have that freedom we cherish so much. Please do not forget our men and women in uniform serving both here and abroad, giving selflessly of themselves so we can continue to live free!! If you see a member of the armed services take a bold step up and shake their hand and say thank you for their sacrifice and service. Hope everyone has a great holiday .
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who are working to get our school ready for the up coming year. The Elementary building is looking sharp as the hallway and a couple classrooms have been painted already and several more will be before school starts. I am excited about all the changes being made to the up keep of our school and I am also excited about the up coming academic and athletic year ahead. This year promises to be even better than last year and we are doing everything we can to make the start of school a stepping stone to many adventures in learning!! Take care all and have a great week-end and please don't forget the Lord's House this week-end and every week-end. We may take a vacation from school but we must never take a vacation from worshiping God!

Good afternoon Northeast Academy Family and Friends,
It is Thursday June 25, 2015 and a great day to be alive and serving a risen savior!! I trust that everyone is enjoying their summer thus far and would like to take the time to encourage you to make time in several areas. Make time for fun, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, they say! Make time for family, friends and most importantly make time for God. My pastor is teaching a series on Sunday evenings on the family. I would like to share with you some thoughts and concepts that I hope will be a blessing to all who read this blog. My intent is to help us to develop strong families for the glory of God. The family has been under attack by Satan (and the world)for quite some time but God has a plan and a program that if we follow it we can not only have strong homes but they will be happy refuges from the chaos and pressures of a lost and dieing world. In Joshua chapter 24 at the end of verse 15 Joshua makes a bold declaration"... as for me and my house we will serve the Lord". If you go back to Joshua chapter 1 verses 7-8 God tells us to be bold and very courageous and to meditate on the word of God.( condensed and abridged version) God says that if we will observe to do what the bible commands if we will meditate on it day and night and not let it depart from our mouths then He, God will make us to prosper, and I don't know anyone that would not like to be prosperous! Joshua said as for me and my house- he could not have made that statement if he had not had the kind of home God had designed for him and for us to have. God desires for us to first and foremost have a proper relationship with Him. After we established the proper relationship with God then all other relationships will be improved and will develop properly. The key to success in Joshua 1:7-8 is the bible- not having the bible just in our homes(where dust covers it many times from lack of use) but the bible in us where we can be a living testimony of what God can do in and through our lives for His glory. As we develop our walk with God He will guide and help us develop all other relationships as they should be, our relationships with our spouse, children, friends, co-workers, boss, etc. As parents we need to set up proper role models for our children, we need to be proper role models for our kids!! Not only do we need to be good role models but we need to establish rules for our homes. Without rules we have chaos and rules are what guide us in the right path and are for our protection and growth not to destroy our fun as many believe. We need rules but rules without relationship lead to rebellion, distrust and anger. By setting rules in our homes and making those rules according to biblical standards we can teach our children (and others) how to take correction correctly. No one likes being corrected but we need to learn how to take it and respond to it properly so that we can learn and grow from it and be better for it. If we look at correction as God intends us to we will swallow our pride(which God hates by the way) and we will see that we have an opportunity to grow and become a better person and servant for God. By learning to take responsibility for our actions we can teach  our children what God is teaching us and hold them accountable and thus make them the people God intends for them to be. I learned a principle that relates to this idea of taking responsibility for one's actions and it is this- accept the blame and God will remove the guilt. Guilt often times hinders us from doing anything for God, because Satan uses it against us and makes us live defeated and weak lives. Rather than shift the blame and point our fingers at others if we will take responsibility for our actions God will remove the guilt and develop us to be the vessels that He can use for His glory. My hope and prayer is that something written here will be a help and blessing to those who read this blog. May God richly bless those who read this blog and may the family and friends of Northeast Academy be strengthened and refreshed this summer and be ready for the upcoming year. In Christ Ralph Graham!!

Good Morning Northeast Academy Family and Friends,
It is June 15, 2015 and hard to believe that this school year has gone by so fast. I apologize that it has been so long since I posted anything in the Headmaster's Corner and will strive to keep this place more current not only during the summer but in the upcoming year! I want to thank everyone for such a wonderful first year here at Northeast Academy. My wife and I cannot tell you how much it means to us that you accepted and supported us this year, we are truly humbled and blessed by you all. I would like to congratulate all of our graduates and let them know we will be praying for them as they embark on the next part of their journey of life. We are so proud of each and every one of you!!
As we prepare for the next school year, we are anticipating a very productive and exciting year. Our atheletes are already conditioning and working to get ready for next years sports and we are expecting great things for our atheletes. We know they will give their best and that all our competitors will know they have been in competition with the best. We are looking forward to expanding our academic programs as our teachers prepare for the coming year and we explore new ways to deliver learning opportunities for our students. We are also excited about the expansion of our christian curriculum in the elementary school and continuation of our bible curriculum in the secondary school. As we prepare for the 2015/16 school year I am anxious to see what God will do here at Northeast Academy as we seek to serve Him and do His will. Cannot wait to see how God uses our staff, Chapel speakers and prayer partners to make an impact on our students, community and world!
I would like to encourage all parents of returning students to encourage their children whether pre-k or high school to engage in some learning activities this summer. Please encourage your children to read this summer and make a trip to the library to check out any literacy programs they may have. If possible make a field trip to some place that will get your students excited about learning. There are some awesome historical places in NC and many are close by and cost little or nothing to visit other than gas and time. Make learning fun for them and when they come back to school they will continue that excitement in the classroom. Day trips to Raleigh and the museums there can be great tools to get your kids hooked on learning and Raleigh has some great places to eat as treat for mom and dad as well. Don't let your kids sit and soak, get them up and out and challenge them to work around the house and make it something they get praise for so that they will not see work as what the world defines as work- you know just another four letter word. Work should be fun and should give us a sense of pride and accomplishment.
I have taken up far more space than I intended but hope that it will be a blesing to you and an encouragement. My next post will hopefully be next week and beginning then I hope to share some insights on the family. My pastor is teaching a serieis on the family on Sunday evenings and I will use some of the lessons he teaches to encourage our families and hopefully strengthen our Norteast Academy Family. These nuggets of gold about the family will come from the Word of God and I hope will be a blessing to all! Take care and again from my wife and I thank you so much for a great year!!
